April 26, 2017 | The Allied Health Academy is excited to celebrate the end of its first year of programming at Western High School! In celebration of the program’s first expansion site, we hosted an end of the year get-together where everyone could reflect upon all the growth and success of the program. For next year, AHA is excited to provide more opportunities and activities to help guide students towards their future goals!

WHS Workshop: Organ Attack!

April 12, 2017 | In this workshop, Western High School students were able to gain a better understanding of the human body by playing the game, Organ Attack! With the main objective to remove your opponents’ organs before they remove yours, the fast-paced game helped students learn more about the functions of different organs and some of the afflictions that can negatively affect each organ.

MHS Workshop: Physical Therapy

March 2, 2017 | For this week’s workshop, Magnolia High School students were introduced to the physical therapy career where they gained a better understanding of the responsibilities and qualifications of the profession.

After the presentation, students were then able to apply some of the resistance band exercises physical therapists utilize on a daily basis. The exercises taught students how different exercises can be used to relieve pain in different areas of the body, such as in the knee or shoulder.
