The Orange Country Department of Education (OCDE) is hosting a workshop titled “Transition to College” on May 11, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The workshop is looking to help improve families’ knowledge about going to college. With separate sets of workshop sessions for students and parents/guardians, everyone will gain a better understanding of the ins and outs that college has to offer.

Febuary 8, 2017 | Students learned a brief overview about the social determinants of health and how it connects to individuals in society. Students watched a video about two different people who experienced different health outcomes because of their personal background. Students worked together to map out a plan and presented on improvements/resources that are needed in each area of society.
February 1, 2017 | The goal of this workshop was for students to create and build new relationships by connecting with current Allied Health Academy college students from Cypress College and Cal State Fullerton.
Students were gathered in a circle to discuss what motivates them to succeed and the barriers they will face along their road to success. As each student shared their thoughts, they expressed how they related to each other and found that they are all connected.
Students learned more about allied health career options and how to be successful throughout college. We had a great time! Thank you to our amazing mentors from Cypress and CSUF!
